Road to Responsibility

Group Employment

Another important component of the continuum of work experiences afforded by RTR involves group employment (sometimes referred to as "enclaves") activities. Such experiences involve sending small crews (usually 5-7) of individual workers to a business to perform specified tasks, under the full-time supervision of a RTR staff person. Group employment participants are engaged in a variety of tasks including: Janitorial, housekeeping, reception/office, warehouse and food service tasks. Individuals are paid an hourly wage (usually minimum wage) for their time spent at the group employment site.

For some people, group employment may be their highest level of employment, for a variety of reasons. For others, though, group employment experiences serve as confidence-building steppingstones on this path toward individual employment. In either case, this is a valuable employment opportunity that we are proud to offer.
