A PLACE TO CALL HOME

Residences

Having your own place - a nice, supportive space where you can relax and relate to others, further expand skills and growth is something we all need to feel happy in our lives.

Road to Responsibility is one of the major residential service providers and managers for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Commonwealth - 40 homes serving 150 individuals. From comfortable, new settings in Scituate and Hanover (where staffing supports are available 24/7) to state-of-the-art single story homes designed to meet the requirements of those with significant physical/mobility needs to co-op apartments in Quincy our residents are provided flexible help geared toward their specific needs. Individuals participating learn how to manage all aspects of life at home from self-care to cooking and cleaning, money management and recreational activities.

Men and women of all ages also take part in community activities of their own choosing, from something as simple as a dinner out or a movie to working on a volunteer basis alongside all other residents. Those in RTR housing are also included in choosing the staff that supports them so well. Many of those who have furthered skills at programs and activities over the years even advance from one place of more intensely supervised living to more independence in RTR's expanding residential service network - one that reflects the gamut of homes that any of us might experience throughout our lives.

From the chores and community involvement to the potential variety of living modes or just the "hanging out" with new friends, life for those living at RTR homes means one thing: being as active and gaining as much independence as possible.

At Road to Responsibility, a home is indeed a castle. To all who live there.
