For Families & Caregivers
Support Through Every Stage of Life
Supporting a loved one with intellectual or developmental disabilities comes with important decisions, transitions, and questions along the way.
At Road to Responsibility, we’re here to help families navigate those moments with clarity, compassion, and support. Whether you’re just beginning to explore services or planning for the future, you don’t have to do it alone.
The RTR Difference
RTR offers a variety of programs and services designed to support youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through different stages of adulthood.
For many families, RTR becomes a long-term partner, with some Members and families having been part of the RTR community for decades.
Our approach goes beyond services alone. We focus on building relationships, creating opportunities for growth and connection, and helping individuals feel supported through life’s transitions.
How RTR Can Help
Every individual’s journey is different. RTR offers a range of supports designed to help individuals build independence, confidence, connection, and meaningful opportunities throughout adulthood.
Planning for the Transition to Adult Services
One of the most significant transitions happens at age 22, when school-based services end and adult services begin. Often referred to as the “Adult Services Cliff,” this transition can feel overwhelming for families navigating what comes next.
RTR offers resources and guidance to help families better understand available services, supports, and planning opportunities.
Future Planning
PLAN of MA & RI
RTR partners with Planned Lifetime Assistance Network (PLAN) of MA & RI to provide individuals and families with access to educational resources, planning support, and information related to long-term care and future planning.
