Recognizing Our Direct Support Professionals

Every day at Road to Responsibility, Direct Support Professionals help turn our mission into action.

They support Members in their homes, programs, and communities; help build daily living skills; coordinate activities and outings; provide transportation and assistance with appointments; complete important documentation; and help ensure each person’s health, safety, and goals remain at the center of their day.

During Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, we’re proud to recognize the many DSPs across RTR whose work makes such an important difference in the lives of the people we support.

“The mission of RTR truly transforms lives through relationships, community involvement, meaningful activities, and opportunities for greater independence and happiness. All of that only happens because of our DSPs. Sometimes it’s easy to miss the impact and importance of everything they do because they do their work with such consistency and care. We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated DSPs and everything they bring to RTR each day.”

— Chris White, President & CEO

That work can take many forms.

Rafael Olivo, who joined RTR in November 2025, has quickly built strong relationships with the individuals he supports and become someone Members genuinely enjoy spending time with and look forward to seeing.

The photos Rafael shared for his spotlight capture that connection — at events, in the community, and in everyday moments together.

Rafael has also continued to take initiative, build his skills, and step into greater responsibility. That growth has now led to a new opportunity as a Lead Case Worker.

At Wendell Ave., Steeve Desorosiers is known for his reliability, initiative, and commitment to the Members he supports.

Steeve completes documentation in a timely manner, proactively asks questions to ensure his work is accurate and compliant, and consistently follows through on the plans and responsibilities that help his program run smoothly.

On weekends, he helps ensure Members participate in their scheduled outings and activities while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall flow of the program.

The work Rafael and Steeve do reflects just some of the many ways direct support happens across RTR every day.

In homes and programs, during appointments and community outings, through daily routines, activities, encouragement, problem-solving, and countless moments of connection, our DSPs help create opportunities for greater independence, choice, participation, and belonging.

Care is our foundation. Possibility is our promise.

Our DSPs help bring that promise to life every day.

To all of the Direct Support Professionals across Road to Responsibility: thank you for the care you provide, the relationships you build, and the many ways you show up for our Members every day.
